GILBERT RANGEL

Gilberto A. Rangel arrived to the United States from Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico in 1967 at age 10. He has held several jobs including farm worker and mail carrier, all while constantly stimulating his instinct to create art.

With assemblage, one among many of his mediums, Rangel calls to evaluation how it is that we assign value to different parts of life; people, things, and objects depending on one’s social and economic circumstance and culture.

Rangel currently resides in northern California with his wife and three daughters.
